Huawei releases the Nova 14 Pro: a mid-range phone with flagship-level camera system

Huawei has officially introduced the Nova 14 Pro, the mid-range model in its Nova 14 series, during a launch event in China on May 19, 2025. The device features a slim design, powerful camera capabilities, and upgraded hardware, offering flagship-level performance at a mid-range price point.

The Nova 14 Pro includes a versatile triple-camera system. At its core is a 50MP main sensor with advanced autofocus (AF) and optical image stabilisation (OIS) that supports a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0, enabling improved low-light performance and better depth-of-field control. The rear setup is further enhanced by a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera. A dedicated multi-spectral colour sensor captures up to 1.5 million channels of colour data to improve colour accuracy and image realism, particularly in mixed lighting.

On the front, the Nova 14 Pro boasts a dual 50MP selfie camera system housed in a pill-shaped cutout on the 6.78-inch LTPO display. The screen supports an adaptive 1–120Hz refresh rate, HDR, and peak brightness of 2500 nits.

The Nova 14 Pro is now available for pre-order in China, starting at CNY 3,499 (approx. $485), with open sales scheduled later this month.
