Yamaha Announces Three New Products Based On Cambridge Mechatronics’ Digital Sound Projector™ Technology

Cambridge, UK, September 6th, 2010 Cambridge Mechatronics Ltd (CML), a leading developer of ASICs, software and other Intellectual Property used in high volume consumer electronics, today announced that its licensee Yamaha Corporation launched three new 7.1 surround sound products based on CML's multi-patented Digital Sound Projector™ technology. The announcements were made at IFA 2010, the major consumer electronics exposition held in Berlin, during September 3rd-8th.

The new home cinema sound systems, further advance Yamaha's leadership in the rapidly growing 5.1/7.1 soundbar product segment. The YSP2200 in particular offers the Digital Sound Projector™ technology in a new form factor, designed to sit unobtrusively in front of most flat panel TVs, yet still providing truly theatrical surround sound. The YRS1100 and YRS2100 are replacements/upgrades for the already highly successful YRS1000 and YRS2000 rack-mounted Audio-Visual systems. These elegant pieces of furniture which support TVs as large as 65" come with a fully integrated 7.1 surround system and a 232W digital amplifier which has many features including an iPod/iPhone docking station option.

The YSP2200 increases the total of currently available Digital Sound Projector™ licensed products to 18. Digital Sound Projector™ technology can also be found in Flat Panel TVs offered by Beko, Grundig, Loewe and Mitsubishi, all of which must display the distinctive "1" logo.
